Saving Private Ryan is a true horror movie. I watched it because I wanted to see a good action movie but the opening sequence really scared the hell out of me and the movie left me pondering over it for hours afterwords.
It's great that there is a movie that shows war's effects on the human body and mind rather than a toned down political chess game. This movie has some amazing cinematography with lots of gray colors to add to the gloom.
Spielburg always manages to create movies that stir up emotions like no other director can. Spielburg and George Lucas are the dynamic duo of cinema.
